📘 What is Excel?
Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet application used to organize, analyze, and visualize data. It works with rows and columns to store data, perform calculations, and create charts.
🧩 Excel Interface Basics
Workbook: The entire Excel file.
Worksheet: A single tab inside the workbook (like “Sheet1”).
Cell: A box where a row and column intersect (like A1, B2).
Column: Vertical (labeled A, B, C…).
Row: Horizontal (labeled 1, 2, 3…).
✍️ Entering Data
Click a cell and start typing to enter text, numbers, or dates.
Press Enter to go to the next row or Tab to move to the next column.
➕ Basic Formulas & Functions
Formulas always start with =.
Common Formulas:
Purpose Formula Example Description
Add =A1 + B1 Adds values in A1 and B1
Subtract =A1 – B1 Subtracts B1 from A1
Multiply =A1 * B1 Multiplies A1 and B1
Divide =A1 / B1 Divides A1 by B1
Common Functions:
Function Example Description
SUM =SUM(A1:A5) Adds all numbers from A1 to A5
AVERAGE =AVERAGE(B1:B5) Calculates average of B1 to B5
MAX =MAX(C1:C5) Finds the largest value
MIN =MIN(C1:C5) Finds the smallest value
🎨 Formatting Data
Bold/Italic/Underline: Use the toolbar.
Cell Color: Highlight cell > click Fill Color.
Number Format: Change to Currency, Date, Percentage, etc.
Merge Cells: Combine multiple cells into one.
📊 Creating Charts

This project is a creative way of showing the complete history of ICC T20 Cricket World Cups using Microsoft Excel. It is not just a simple table, but a smart project where we used the XLOOKUP function to fetch information automatically. The project is also presented in the form of a video output to make it more interactive and engaging.
What the Project Includes:
Year-wise T20 World Cup Records – Starting from 2007, every edition of the T20 World Cup is covered.
Winner & Runner-Up Details – Each year’s winner and runner-up team is displayed with their national flags.
Captains with Photos – Names and images of both winning and runner-up captains are shown.
Winning Moments – Real pictures of champion teams holding the trophy are added to make the file more attractive.
Automated with XLOOKUP – Instead of manually searching, the XLOOKUP formula is used so that when a year is selected, Excel automatically shows the winner, runner-up, captains, and images.
Video Demonstration – The final output has been converted into a video, showing how the Excel file works in real time.
Skills Learned:
Using XLOOKUP for dynamic searching and data fetching.
Designing a structured data table in Excel.
Inserting and aligning flags, photos, and images in cells.
Creating a project that is both educational and visually appealing.
Presenting Excel work as a video output for better understanding.
Why This Project is Unique:
Combines Excel formulas with sports data (Cricket), making learning fun.
Shows how Excel can go beyond calculations to create interactive projects.
Trains students in both data handling and presentation skills.
The video format makes it easy to share and demonstrate.
Final Result:
The result is an interactive T20 World Cup record book in Excel, where users can check:
Which team won in any year.
Who were the captains.
What the winning moment looked like.
And all of this is possible with just a single XLOOKUP search.
